Actress Fathia Balogun Slams English Actors For Dividing Nollywood
Fathia Balogun is not pleased with the way the Nigerian movie industry has been segregated based on language.
A lot of people are of the opinion that the term 'Nollywood' belong to only English speaking actors, while pushing Nigerian native language movies to another group entirely, which has resulted in the creation of Kannywood in the northern part of the country.
Spitting fire, popular actress, Fathia Balogun has slammed such opinion that separates English actors from Yoruba actors, laying emphasis that Nollywood covers all movies in the country.
She said;
"If I do Yoruba movie doesn't mean I can't speak English. Or because you do English movies, you can speak English more than me. No! Give me my script, and I will read it, and I will do it. For me, Nollywood is Nollywood. There is nothing like English actor, Yoruba actor. We are all doing movies.”
