Michelle Obama will look like an angry militant in her natural hair -- Novelist, Chimamanda Adichie [PICS+VIDEO]

Some times very smart people say the weirdest things and that is what many will probably attribute this epic interview session of ace Nigerian novelist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie who has classified women based on their type of hair.

In the video, the writer of 'Half of a yellow sun and Americanah' used US first lady as an example, stating that Michelle would have come across to many as an angry militant woman, if she was rocking her natural hair.

Chimamanda who recently welcomed her baby girl, also stated that the generally accepted society hair, which she refers to as mainstream is the one that falls down.
She said;

"I've often said that, if Michelle Obama had natural hair when Barack Obama was running for president, he would not have won.
Because her natural hair would have signified certain things to people and those things are negative things'.

"It will signify that she is some sort of militant, neo black panther, Frightening, angry - angry in a bad way, because of course, talking about gender, in some ways women are not allowed to be angry, particularly black women, so anger in a black woman is something that's just a no-no".

"And I think it will also somehow signify that she is not mainstream, because we have decided that mainstream hair is hair that sort of falls down. And when you have hair that its natural and black, it sort of stands up, and its not really considered mainstream".
