Police Arrest 3 Suspected Murderers Of Gulder Ultimate Search Winner
The 2006 Gulder Ultimate Search winner, Hector Oluwaseun Joberteh, has sent many into mourning after his gruesome murder in his Lagos home by unknown gunmen on Saturday.
Reports say he recently arrived Nigeria to spend a few weeks. On Saturday morning, he went to the airport to pick a relative who had also just arrived.
Shortly after he got back home, two armed men forced their way into the building, harassed a few neighbours and shot Hector at close range once they saw him. His father also got shot but survived.
The assailants then escaped without stealing anything, leading friends and family to believe that this was an assassination.
Minutes ago reports from Vanguard, claims that three suspects have been arrested by the police, in connection with Hector's murder at his residence, 8, Olufowora Close, New Oko-Oba, Lagos.
Confirming the arrest of the suspects, the new Lagos state commissioner of police, Imohimi Edgal, said they were undergoing interrogations. He said:
“Some yet-to-be identified hoodlums pretending to be friends of the deceased, gained access into the apartment of Hector Jobarteh, 38, in the presence of his brother, one Victor Jobarteh. They shot the said Hector on the chest without any dialogue and fled from the scene.
Enquiries carried out from neighbours revealed that the deceased may have been a victim of business transaction that went sour.
The police will use every asset at its disposal to ensure that the perpetrators of this heinous act are not only brought to book, but diligently prosecuted.”
Hector got married in 2013 and shuttled between Nigeria and the US where his wife and daughter lived. His wife is reportedly pregnant with another child.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
