Funke Akindele to star in ‘Avengers: Infinity Wars

Popular Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele, will star alongside international movie stars Robert Downey Jr and Chris Hemsworth, in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity Wars

The Jenifa star name has appeared so far on the cast list on IMDb, a popular source for movie content, and Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as a Dora Milaje Member, a team of women who serve as personal bodyguards of the Black Panther, the spiritual leader of Wakanda.

Avengers: Infinity War, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, will be released on May 4, 2018, making it the 19th main instalment in the MCU. The sequel, Avengers 4, is set for release on May 3, 2019.

She will feature alongside top Hollywood actors like, Chris Evans, Don Cheadle and Chris Pratt and Scarlett Johansson, while Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel feature in voice acting roles.

This movie role makes Funke the first Nigerian-born actor to feature in a Hollywood superhero movie.
