Two Barristers, Two Royal Houses Unite in Grand Traditional Wedding in Orlu

Orlu, Imo State, stood still as history, royalty, and love intertwined in a magnificent traditional marriage ceremony that brought together two distinguished legal minds and two revered royal families.
The colourful event, marked by deep cultural significance and regal splendour, saw the family of High Chief Amb. Festus Okolie Udungwo of Nnenato Ebenese Iheoma, Orlu, formally unite with the family of Chief Nwaebili (Oduah and Odaje Eze of Odekpe) in the traditional marriage of their children.

The highly celebrated union was between Honourable Barrister Nonso Nwaebili and Honourable Barrister Precious Dera Okolie, both accomplished members of the Nigerian Bar, whose marriage symbolised the fusion of intellect, tradition, and royal heritage.

From the breaking of kola nuts to the exchange of wine, the ceremony was steeped in rich Igbo customs, drawing an impressive gathering of traditional rulers, legal colleagues, community leaders, elders, and well-wishers from far and near. Cultural troupes thrilled guests with energetic performances, while the atmosphere radiated joy, pride, and celebration.

The occasion received royal blessings with the distinguished presence of His Royal Majesty, Okey Tony Afuberoh, the Traditional Ruler and Regent of Odekpe Kingdom, whose attendance added prestige and underscored the historic nature of the union.
