Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha has become the most-followed goalkeeper on Instagram after his heroic performances at the 2026 World Cup, surpassing Iker Casillas.
The 40-year-old shot-stopper started the tournament with just around 50,000 followers. But after helping Cape Verde secure a stunning 0-0 draw against Spain with seven saves and a clean sheet, his following exploded .
He then delivered another masterclass against Argentina in the round of 32, making eight saves and frustrating Lionel Messi all night .
Now, Vozinha sits at the top of the goalkeeper follower rankings with over 21 million followers . Not bad for a guy who was practically unknown a few weeks ago.
